UX & UI Design for Wowanders
Wowanders Ltd is a startup working on an AI powered Travel Diary app. I worked on UX & UI Design for Wowanders app.
Client: Wowanders Ltd | Since Feb 2018
I started working with my client Wowanders after the pilot phase of the app. I worked in a team with two engineers. I also collaborated with the Developers (remotely).
Just before I started Wowanders had ordered the visual identity from an agency. I started with implementing the new assests and creating new ones. During the process together as a team we worked on desktop research, feature ideation, user journeys, copywriting and general ideation. I drew wire-frames for UX flows and UI elements. I designed UI elements & screens and UX flow prototypes for Wowanders app (iOS, hybrid). During the process we made improvement on the UX flows and UI elements. We had ideation workshops to go through all the features and created new ones. I did a lot of desktop reasearch during the process.
I also participated on executing the user testing and worked on the improvements on the UX & UI designs based on the results. I was constantly testing the app and reporting the bugs to the developers. I worked mainly with Sketch, InVision, Zeplin, ProductBoard and Jira.
UX & UI Design Process
Here I have illustrated the process of my work with a timeline and the different stages of the app.
WIREFRAMES
Based on our team’s workshops, research, user journeys and requirements I drew pen & paper wireframes of the screens before designing on Sketch.
App Screens
I designed layouts for the app screens and flows on Sketch. With the team we had few feedback rounds before I designed the final ones. I made prototypes on InVision and handed over to the developers.
Prototypes
Here you can see few examples of the screens and prototypes I made for InVision. For best experience I recommend you to view them on a mobile device (preferably iPhone).
User Testing
The App Store and Google Play version of the app was launched in June 2018. After the launch we planned and excecuted user testing in July for a small group of test users. We had tasks for the test users and we observed them using the app. Based on the results we made changes on the UX and UI design and experience.
UX & UI Improvements
Based on testing, user testing and research I improved the screen designs to be updated on the app.
Here is an example how the screen for My Trips has changed during the process.
New Features
Every now and then we had workshops on new feature ideation. We decided to proceed on some ideas immediately and some were postponed to be designed later.
